Capital Properties, Inc., and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Tri-State Displays, Inc., Capital Terminal Company and Dunellen, LLC (collectively referred to as "the Company), operated in two segment, leasing and petroleum storage, for many years. On December 20, 2016, the Company's Board of Directors authorized the sale of the Company's petroleum storage facility and related assets to Sprague Operating Resources, LLC. On January 24, 2017, the Company entered into a definitive purchase and sales agreement with Sprague, and the transaction was consummated on February 10, 2017. The Company's principal business is the leasing of Company-owned land (approximately 18 acres) in the Capital Center area in downtown Providence, Rhode Island, under long-term land leases. The Company also leases outdoor advertising locations for billboards along interstate and primary highways in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
