Nampak is a packaging manufacturer with operations in South Africa, United Kingdom, Angola, Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Namibia and Ethiopia. The company produces packaging products from metal, paper, plastic and glass in South Africa and the rest of Africa and makes plastic bottles in the United Kingdom. The group participates in extensive collection and recycling initiatives and continues to invest significant time and resources in the development of more sustainable products. Nampak's main business is in South Africa, where they have 58 operations, accounts for 67% of all operations and 64% of the group's revenue. The rest of Africa and the United Kingdom have 20 and nine operations respectively. Operations in the rest of Africa continue to grow. In the 2013 financial year trading profit increased by 60% in this region, accounting for 36% of trading profit (including exports). The company has ambitions to increase the rest of Africa operations group trading profit contribution from 24% (excluding exports) in 1H2014 to 50% in 2020.
