The Company provides educators with its own innovative and proprietary products and services, from basic school supplies to 21st century classroom designs to Science, Reading, Language and Math teaching materials, as well as planning and development tools. Through its nationwide distribution network, School Specialty provides its customers with access to a broad spectrum of other trusted, third-party brands across its business segments. This assortment strategy enables the Company to offer customers a range of products at the state, district and school levels. Primarily serving the pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade ("preK-12") market, the Company has recently expanded its presence in non-traditional channels, such as e-commerce and retail. School Specialty offers its products through two operating groups: Distribution (formerly referred to as "Educational Resources") and Curriculum (formerly referred to as "Accelerated Learning").
