Wisconsin Electric Power Company (Wisconsin Electric), a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, Inc. (WEC Energy Group), was incorporated in the state of Wisconsin in 1896. We maintain our principal executive offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We have combined our common functions with those of Wisconsin Gas LLC (Wisconsin Gas), a wholly owned natural gas utility subsidiary of WEC Energy Group. We and Wisconsin Gas operate jointly under the trade name of "We Energies." Wisconsin Electric conducts its operations primarily through its reportable utility segment consisting of electric utility operations, natural gas utility operations, and steam utility operations. As of December 31, 2017, we serve approximately 1,126,800 electric customers in Wisconsin, approximately 486,300 gas customers in Wisconsin, and approximately 400 steam customers in metropolitan Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
